Riding the Rails of History: The Cheyenne Street Railway Trolley
A ride on the Cheyenne Street Railway Trolley isn’t just a tour, it’s a journey through time. Whether you're a longtime local or just passing through, these trolleys offer more than scenery: they share stories of Cheyenne’s past, its architecture, its characters, and hidden gems you might have never noticed.

History & Heritage
The Cheyenne Street Railway Trolley now offers Wild West History Tours lasting about 90 minutes, year-round. It departs from the Depot Plaza.
Back in the late 1800s, Cheyenne had its original horsecars and then an electric street railway system (Cheyenne Electric Railway Co). The horse-drawn lines opened in 1888.
Over time, trolley service (horse- or electric) ceased as buses or other modes took over, but the current trolley tour revives the heritage in a tourist-friendly, storytelling format.
