Meet the Maker: Patrick Zabel — Sculpting the Spirit of the West
Join us for a special Meet the Maker After Hours event at The Cowboy Emporium, featuring acclaimed Western sculptor Patrick Zabel — a fifth-generation Coloradan whose life and work capture the living heart of the American West. At this exclusive after-hours event, guests will have the rare opportunity to meet Patrick in person as he puts the final touches on a grand new sculpture — a major work to be unveiled for the first time that evening. Patrons will be able to pre-order limited edition casts of this piece before it’s released to the public.
Winter Rose Zentangle
In this class, you will learn how to put together a beautiful paper rose. We’ll tangle each petal as we create a unique stem or two (or three!). Bring your basic pair of tangle supplies-micron pen, pencil, and shading stump-if you have them. Also, a good pair of paper-cutting scissors would be helpful to take along. The paper and other misc. Supplies we’ll be using will be provided, and we’ll have the basic supplies needed for your use. Since this class is on the longer side, feel free to bring a snack to share with the group. Class size is limited and pre-registration is required.

“Hands-On” Introduction to Stained Glass – Christmas Edition
Artist Barb Christofferson of Glass Works Stained Glass Studio of Cheyenne will teach participants how to cut, grind, foil, and solder components of their suncatcher during this three-hour workshop. Band-aides are included, along with other tools, materials, and instructions. And you’ll depart with a finished suncatcher that YOU made! A Saturday in November can’t be spent any better. Ages 12 and up are eligible for this workshop, and registration is necessary in advance.

Flavorful Sourdough Workshop
Come join our guest Baker Lori, as she shows you, hands-on, not to be afraid of making sourdough!
This fun and interactive class will give you the foundation for making classic sourdough bread while also showing you how to step on the wild side and make Jalapeño/Cheddar or Cinnamon raisin or any other add ins you might find delicious!
By the end of the class you will have a loaf to take home to bake , a starter for future loaves, written directions that we will cover step by step in class, and the confidence to actually do it!

Día de los Muertos 2025 Celebration
Celebrate those that have passed on and learn about the culture, traditions, and history of the Day of the Dead.
Bring in items to add to the community ofrenda. Please only bring copies of photos as we are not responsible for misplaced originals. Take in the beautiful flower display and learn about the history of the celebration. Enjoy a performance by Como La Flor dance group at 11:00 am, and by Las Angelitas Unidas y Los Rayos del Sol dance group at 1:30 pm. Get delicious treats and food from local food vendors La piña loca/ fruit desserts, and Queso’s Kitchen. Take-home kids’ activity kits will be given out. Make your own flower crown or boutonnieres in the classroom, while supplies last. Take home a marigold grown at the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens while supplies last.

Nightmare at the Picklr
Get your team of four (2 men and 2 women) together and prepare to compete in this fun team tournament.
This Minor League Pickleball style tournament will be an open division round-robin team competition. Mixed teams of 4 players (2 women and 2 men) of all ability levels will compete against each other in four 21-point games (2 gendered, 2 mixed). There will not be different divisions, based on DUPR ratings. Teams can plan on 3 matches in pool play and more if your team advances to the playoffs.
You must sign up as a team (list your 3 other partners in the notes section of your registration). Teams can register through our app, on our website or by calling the front desk. This tournament will be free for members and $30 for non-members. This is NOT a DUPR event so scores will not be reported for rating purposes. notes)

Pottery Painting Event
Join us with our host from Graffitos for a Pottery Painting Event! Hang out with our cats while you paint your own cat bank or cat bowl. The Pudgy Cat bank is $22, the Cat bank is $33, and the Cat Paw Bowl is $31. After the event, you will pick up your creation AT Graffitos in a week or two after it has been fired in the kiln. Amber is donating some of the pottery proceeds to the cat cafe, which will go towards cat care. Get signed up by calling Graffitos at (307) 433-9563 and pre-pay with them.
Halloween Harvest Market 2024
The Event Center at Archer is the place to be for all of your Fall Halloween fun! Shop from over 100 local vendors and small businesses. Bring the kids in costume for a fun and interactive 4H showcase, free balloon twisting and face painting. Meet animals, learn about different 4H programs, play games and enjoy trick or treating at the different stations and throughout the arena with participating vendors! The Cheyenne Shriners will be on site with the Fez and their bucket raffles and delicious snacks and meals will be available in the concession area.
This FREE family friendly event now includes a raffle for adults. Spend $10 or more with any of our amazing local craftspeople or small businesses and receive an entry into our prize raffle (must be 18 or older to win). Raffle prizes will include a $250 gift certificate to King Soopers and other amazing gifts- stay tuned for details!

This event will kick off a series of Musician Development opportunities--announcements that night! Registration is required, but the event is FREE to attend and includes your first drink - on us!

Fall Foliage Walk and Picnic at the Arboretum
We will walk through the arboretum as Jessica Friis points out the trees and shrubs with stunning fall color and end with a picnic in the lath house. No tables are available, so please bring a chair or blanket. Bring your own lunch; dessert will be provided. Meet at the lath house of the High Plains Arboretum, 8601 Hildreth Road.
