ROUGHSTOCK EVENTS
Bareback, Saddle Bronc & Bull Riding
One Hand. Eight Seconds. High Score Wins.
In these thrilling roughstock events, the rider’s score is a 50/50 split between their performance and the animal’s bucking power. Cowboys must stay on the animal for a full eight seconds using only one hand—touching the animal, themselves, or their gear with the free hand means instant disqualification.
These high-adrenaline events kick off from the 10 bucking chutes right in front of the East Stand—so if you’re looking for heart-pounding action, that’s the place to be.

Roping, Wrestling & Barrel Racing
Fastest Time Wins!
These fast-paced events are all about timing, teamwork, and grit.
In Team Roping and Tie-Down Roping, ropers work solo or with a partner to catch and control a moving calf with speed and precision. Steer Wrestling—also known as bulldogging—takes serious strength as the cowboy jumps from horseback to wrestle a steer to the ground.
All roping and wrestling events start at Chute 9 on the south end of the arena, giving the animal a fair head start. Leave early and it’s a 10-second penalty!
Barrel Racing is where skill and trust between rider and horse shine. Riders race around three barrels in a cloverleaf pattern, with tight turns and full-speed sprints that keep fans on the edge of their seats. This event starts from the north end of the arena and is always a highlight.
